The Dreamer
by Blodeuedd

Fluffy violet freaking unicorns! What was wrong with her? Lisana sat up and rolled her eyes when she recalled her dreams. Unicorns? Really!? She sighed and wondered what the stupid dream meant. The other seers would laugh their asses off when she told them about her dream in pink and violet where she had run with a unicorn. It had been so sweet and innocent.  But she knew her duty and dragged herself out of her room. The other seers were already waiting.

“What did the dreams tell you my child?”

Lisana groaned and started to tell her story.

There is more to dream-seeing that just looking at the big things that stand out. You have to look at everything, every little detail. And there within lies the truth. These words had been pounded into her head every day and she had forgotten them. A month had passed since that dream and she had been on the road ever since.  Heading north to unicorn country.

The street was deserted. Blood was splattered across the citycentre and Lisana pulled her cloak closer. She was scared and she was alone, but she knew someone would be close by and she hid in the shadows until they showed up. Shifters! She drew a deep breath and their heads turned to her. They had sniffed her out and corned her. She stood still to show no fear and before her eyes two naked men soon stood. She averted her eyes but they did not care.

“You are a long way from home southling,” one of them said and grinned.

“Yes,” she said and remembered her training. She took another deep breath and looked him straight in the eyes, even though she knew she blushed like crazy.

“Never seen a shift before?” The other one asked and she looked at him, up and down.

“Never seen such dirty naked northerners,” she said and the men laughed. She sighed with relief.

“Ok, let’s get some clothes and you can tell your story.”

They were named Ranulf and Olaf. Brothers by blood from a decimated clan. They took her in and cared for her. She told them about her mission and they tried to persuade her otherwise, but she need to travel further and they followed. Just as she had seen. The time had arrived and she hid in the bushes with her new bow. Next to her the brothers lay in wolf form, ready to attack if needed.

I am ready.

She took out an arrow.

The bow was ready.

The arrow flew on the winds and hit its target. Another arrow followed. She knew their weakness and they fell to the ground, they bled. The brothers lost all control and called to their brethrens. Blood, and more blood.

It was just a small herd. But they were dead by nightfall. The clans called her their savior and she basked in their glory, smiling at Olaf who was covered in blood holding a unicornhorn. He smiled back.

Death to the murderous unicorns!

Now this was just weird, lol, I was kind of bored at the beginning and, oh I do not know. What do you think?
