First Love
by Blodeuedd

It was their secret place, a hilltop high above the green lush valley. They had found an old goat path that lead up to the top and it was their secret. No one would ever find them there. Silk he called her because he said her skin was like the finest silk. Once he had taken some with him so she could touch it and feel for herself. She had smiled and kissed him. She loved him more than life itself, and he loved her.

Silk took a flower and held it. She looked down upon the valley to see if she could see his horse. She never felt as free as she did here. No one could see her and she let her dress fall down. She smiled and laughed. But he did not come that day, and not the day after either. She waited patiently for a week and then he came. He kissed her and later he cried while she held him. He told her that a marriage had been arranged between him and a neighbor’s daughter. She sat still and did not shed a tear. Of course she knew this day would come. He was a lord, and she was nothing.

“It is all well my love,” she said and held him for the last time.

Silk knew what she wanted and she left the very next day. She knew he would search for her but he would not find her. He had his duty and she, well she wanted him, and she believed in love.

10 years later

Lady Kailana slowly looked around the ballroom. Her husband had died the year before and left her with a big estate and money enough to do whatever she wanted. But it was not money that she wanted, it was love. And after being in a loveless marriage she needed it too. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him. Handsome and, she blushed and looked to her friend.

“Could you introduce us?”

Her friend laughed and nodded.

“Though you could do better than some poor border lord,” Elyssa said but Kailana just smiled.

“No, I want him.”

Karon stared at her the whole time while Elyssa talked. He had lost his wife also a year before and this was the first time he had come to the capital. He later led her out on the dancefloor and pulled her close.

She looked up and smiled.

“Can you marry me now?”

“Oh Silk,” he whispered in her hair and felt tears well up in his eyes.” I do not deserve you.”

“Yes you do,” she said and kissed him. “Especially now after this scandal,” she laughed and he spun her around.

A Hea! yes I surprised myself too. I would have loved to tell you all ho Silk used her womanly charms to get an old fool to marry her, but that is another story

Nice story
I like a happy ending, even if it takes 10 years to get there.

Re: Nice story
Thank you :) I wanted a HEA for once, but I was realistic and could not make those two marry. I had to make her something more.
