Bella and the Beast by Blodeuedd
She was fair, she was kind and loved by all. Her parents knew she would make a good match in the village and were amused when the suitors came to their door. Bella smiled at them all and let them court her. Because she knew her prince would come in the end, her real prince and not one of these silly village boys, but she played along and the tale of her beauty spread. Her parents lamented when she never chose a man for herself and decided to try something else. As her father travelled the country selling his craft he was sure to tell everyone he met that his daughter was the kindest of all daughters. She was also fair to look upon and he was sure any man would be lucky to have her. But tragedy struck and her father lost it all. The only value the family no had was their daughter. So her father struck a bargain with the neighboring lord and gave his daughter away. The poor child cried and cried, she still dreamt of her handsome prince and did not care for the Beast of Nourmein as they called Lord Augustine.
As the years went on the beauty and kindess of her heart faded away. She served his wife the best she could and the cruel woman hit the beauty who also served her husband in bed. Her Lord and master was cruel and played with her head. She longed for a death that never came. She could not even look at him, his face scared from sickness, his body fat and his mind lost of any goodness. She cried at night all alone and hated her family who she heard had moved away with their new riches.
The day she found out she was pregnant was the day she found courage and as he was hitting her she let him continue, and continue until her will finally gave in.
The next thing Bella saw was a forest glimmering in the sunlight. She was about to turn away but looked back. Her heart feeling hope again as she smiled and looked at the bird singing in the trees. There she sat down and hoped that this time her prince would come along.
not happy, it never became a story, just a telling of one. Eh, not good.
