The Angel
by Blodeuedd

”By the Gods!” Lenia stomped her foot and screamed. One would think she would be happy. She was after all in heaven. Many other would spend eternity in hell for what they had done. But was she happy? No, because that was the thing, she was dead. At least she found out when she came to heaven that there were millions of Gods and Goddesses around and the only people that went to hell were the truly evil ones. Not that she was anywhere near going to hell, no, she had never done anything bad like killing or torturing. But now she was dead, sitting on a fluffy cloud looking down upon earth. She could always fall, she heard the rumors and whispers, but she was afraid, because she did not want to end up ugly and demonic. She swore some more and then she sighed. Time for work.

Deep in an Irish forest a fairy queen called upon heavenly intervention and down she flew. This is what she did, helping people, and all other kinds of beings that lived on the earth she thought she knew.

The Fairy asked for help, demons were plaguing her realm and even if Lenia was no warrior she decided to help.

Not even heaven, paradise, eden was free from lies. This she found out the hard way when 4 demons pinned her to the ground. But they did not look like she thought they would. They used a glamour to scare people, but underneath it, she gasped as she looked up on one of her attackers. The fight had been brief and she had lost. No, the handsome one chased away the others and smiled.
“Little angel, you want to be human again?”
She nodded and he smiled a smiled she should have said no to.
“After your new life you are ours.”
“Yes, yours.” She answered and smiled. A new life, mortal! A chance to grow old, have children, and to be happy.

A few minutes later she gasped for air and looked up. Faces all around her, faces she did not know.
“Where am I?” It came out like a whisper and one of the people started to cry. She coughed and looked down on herself. A hospital bed, wrinkles. She started crying too. She did not need to see her face to know that the demon had tricked her.

She really should have know better
