True Love
- The icky version
by Blodeuedd

Lightning struck as if heaven itself called out for him to stop. But he could not, and he would not. The sorrow that pierced his heart made it impossible to see reason. And so he took his axe and broke down the door to the crypt. His heart was tight in his chest as he went in and there she lay. His fingers traced the letters on the stone, Annabelle. The love of his life, the reason why he breathed. He sank down on his knees and cursed the world for taking her from him. He cried and banged his head against the stone. But then he dried his tears and removed the lid. There she was. He touched her cold grey skin and smiled. She was beautiful even in death. So very beautiful. He took her out and held her close.
“Annabelle,” he whispered and kissed her cold dead lips. He carried her outside to the waiting car where he carefully strapped her in. It was not the easiest thing to do and he felt a few things crack but he was blinded by longing.

He drove for hours, out into the wilderness. Out where no on lived and no one would ever find him. He had bought a tiny little island the day before and he talked about it to her while he drove. It was not big, but it was lovely and it had a little cottage that she would just adore. He touched her hand and could almost see her smiling back.

He parked the car at the end of the road and took her outside. He swore a bit when it proved hard but he got her out in the end. A few cracks and pops was all it took. Then he carried her to the boat that was waiting at the beach. He placed her inside and took the things he had taken with him. The mists lay heavy over the lake as he made it over to the other side.
“Our new home,” he said and looked proudly at the cottage. The he looked down at her in the boat. Her head was at a strange angle so he quickly fixed that.
“I will carry you over the threshold, just like when we married.” He laughed and took her in his arms again.

To show how sorry I am for missing two deadlines! I give you the most morbid story I have written so far, tadaaaa, I hope you enjoyed it ;)
