Elenore did not hear the whispers, nor did she see any shadows. She rode on and kept her mask. This was not what she wanted, and she had tried to put it off, but here she still was. Married and a princess of Angland. Her new husband was handsome, brave and all those things a prince should be but she, well she believed in love. Something no princess should believe in, but she blamed it on the stories told by her nanny when she was little. Foolish stories. She sighed and smiled sweetly as she saw her husband watching her. At least he liked her, but then she was a beauty, she doubted he cared for much else.
That night they stated in a little clearing and she had a guard on her every moment, even when she had to use the bushes. She sighed again and managed to get away, at least three bushes away. After having finished her business she took one look at the woods and got the strangest feeling ever. She looked back at the camp and as a few crows fly over her and hid whatever noise she made. She did not what came over her but she could not stop. Her feet would not let her, not before she came before an enormous tree and she knew, she just knew.
“I have waited for you”, a voice said from the tree and she looked up. There a man sat, she blushed as she saw no clothes, but still she did not look away. He wore a crown of branches and a pair of wings was his mantle.
“And I for you,” she answered and he flew down. She smiled as he took her hands and kissed them.
“Will you come with me?”
She nodded and knew that was leaving everything behind but she cared not. She blamed those foolish stories for true love, and thanked the Gods that they were true.
And no Ana, she does not get killed, they actually live happily ever after :)
